A common request is to include table and floor lamps into the lighting controls of the LumenCache system. The SIB-SOCKET does exactly that.
Simply screw in a compatible 48VDC lightbulb into the lamp, plug the lamp into the SIB-SOCKET, and connect the SIB-SOCKET to the PDM through the cat5 wire. Use an FV or SV driver in the PDM socket to power up to 50W of table lamps!
Two RJ45 jacks on the SIB-SOCKET allow you to daisy-chain these together from a single wire and control each lamp socket individually through the system, or even wirelessly to the SIB-SOCKET itself!
Safety features protect the SIB and the whatever is plugged in by detecting if the load is safe and compatible.
You can not power AC vacuum cleaners, toasters, TVs, or other large loads. Some small USB chargers may be compatible, but really this device is made for 48VDC light bulb fixtures, which is why we included a table lamp icon on the cover. Plugging in an incompatible device will result in an error indication on the SIB and a fault message through the LumenCache interface.
Most 48VDC bulbs are 3-8W, so you can connect up to 10 table or floor lamps using one cat5 from the panel.
We recommend mounting your data networking (LAN) wires near the LumenCache panel, so you can use the unused data jacks as table lamp jacks with this handy solution.
